Dayton, Ohio-Bowling Green starting pitcher Dylan Floro did not allow a runner past first base over seven scoreless innings as the Hot Rods defeated the Dayton Dragons 5-0 on Wednesday night at Fifth Third Field.

Floro, the Midwest League earned run average leader, allowed six hits, all singles, and walked one while striking out three. He lowered his ERA to 1.56. Marcus Jensen fired two scoreless innings to close it out, striking out three.

Bowling Green took a 2-0 lead in the second inning as Justin O'Conner belted a solo home run and Ryan Dunn added a two-out, run-scoring single. They tacked on two more runs in the fifth on O'Conner's two-run double, and closed out the scoring with a run in the ninth.

The loss snapped the Dragons' four-game winning streak. However, they remained one game of the wildcard slot as second place Great Lakes lost to West Michigan. The Dragons fell to three games out of first place in the Midwest League's Eastern Division.

The Dragons dropped to 22-17 in the second half. They are 17-9 over their last 26 games and 14-6 over the last 20 home games.

The Dragons finished with seven hits. Reds 2013 number one pick Phillip Ervin collected two singles in his second game with the Dragons.

Dragons starting pitcher Amir Garrett worked four and one-third innings, allowing four runs on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Jackson Stephens followed Garrett and pitched four and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on five hits with no walks and six strikeouts.

The Dragons travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky to battle the Hot Rods on Thursday at 8:05 p.m. (EDT). Drew Cisco (4-5, 3.69) will start for Dayton against Bowling Green's Reinaldo Lopez (6-4, 2.35).
