Boise Hawks News Release
Hillsboro, Oregon - The Hawks scored two unearned runs and almost scooted past the Hillsboro Hops on Friday night but an eighth inning home run by Justin Anderson gave the Hops the 3-2 victory.
Javier Palacios received the start for the Hawks and gave up just one earned run while spreading six hits over six solid innings pitched.
The game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Trevor Mitsui ripped an RBI double to give the Hops a 1-0 lead.
The Hawks tied the game in the fifth inning when Carlos Herrera scored on a Tyler Bolton wild pitch and took the lead in the following inning after Brian Mundell scored on a fielding error by left fielder, Luis Veras.
The Hawks appeared on their way to victory until Josh Anderson crushed a two-out two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Brody Greer came on in the ninth and picked up the save as the Hops took game two of this three game series by a final score of 3-2.
The Hawks (3-6) will look to avoid the series sweep at the hands of the Hops (5-4) tomorrow evening. First pitch is set for 5:03 p.m.
