
Left-Hander Tayler Saucedo Leads Câ??s To 5-1 Win

(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - LHP Tayler Saucedo pitched 6.0 scoreless innings and got support from the Canadians offence, lifting Vancouver to a 5-1 victory over the Spokane Indians on Friday afternoon out at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium.
The Canadians took an early lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning after a single by C Josh Reavis scored RF Earl Burl III. After stealing second base, and then third, Reavis scored on a wild pitch by Spokane starter RHP Cole Wiper, helping Vancouver to a 2-0 lead.
Later in the game the Canadians went on to score in three consecutive innings. Reavis crossed home in the 5th inning on a sacrifice fly by 1B Justin Atkinson, DH Ryan Hissey scored in the 6th inning on a ground out by 3B Carl Wise, followed by Atkinson in the 7th inning, who stole home on the front end of a double-steal. The Canadians led 5-0 at the end of the 7th inning.
Canadians starter LHP Tayler Saucedo impressed fans in Vancouver in his first game at The Nat going 6.0 scoreless innings, surrendering just three hits and striking out three batters.
LHP Stuart Holmes stepped in to relieve Saucedo going 1.0 innings with no hits. LHP Micheal Kraft replaced Holmes and found himself in a jam after loading the bases for the Indians in the 8th inning, but only one run managed to cross the plate, making the final 5-1.

With the win, the Canadians improve to 4-5 (.444) in the second half. The rubber match of the series against Spokane will take place Saturday, August 8th at 7:05PM. Saturday's game is sold out.
