(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - Despite six scoreless innings from Canadians starter RHP Jon Wandling, his foray into the 7th inning fell short helping the Spokane Indians to a 4-1 victory on Thursday night in front of 5,790 fans out at Scotiabank Field.

The Canadians defence struggled in the 7th inning committing a trio of throwing errors. Wandling (1-3) was replaced after going 6 1/3 innings by LHP Turner Lee who struggled to keep Wandling's runs on-base as the Indians plated four to grab its first lead of the night.
LF Connor Panas made a pair of noteworthy catches both off of Sherman Lacrus in two consecutive at bats, preventing extra bases, racing back to the warning track and making both catches right at the wall, and helping to keep the Canadians keep within striking distance.
Vancouver would put a pair of runners on-base in both the bottom of the 8th and 9th innings, but ran into tough pitching from Indians reliever LHP Adam Choplick who picked up a six-out, two inning save in the 4-1 victory.
With the loss the Canadians drop to 3-5(.428) in the second half of the Northwest League season. Vancouver will host Spokane for game two of the three-game series on Friday, August 7th at 1:05pm.
