Greensboro Grasshoppers News Release
GREENSBORO - See what a dollar can get you on Monday, Sept. 1 by joining the Grasshoppers for their season finale from NewBridge Bank Park beginning at 12:30 p.m.
The Grasshoppers are making a push to set another single-season attendance record for the fourth consecutive season since moving to the new downtown ballpark. In appreciation for helping make Greensboro the best-attended team in the South Atlantic League, the Grasshoppers will be slashing prices on lawn tickets, hot dogs, soda and beer and selling them all for $1 apiece.
Greensboro kicks off its campaign leading up to the Sept. 1 "Hoppin' Fun - Help Us Be #1 Day" on Thursday (Aug. 28) at 7:00 p.m. when they open a five-game series against the Lexington Legends.
With local colleges and universities returning to class in the Piedmont Triad area, the Hoppers are looking to fill the stadium for the final Natty Greene's Thirsty Thursday of the season. Discounted beverage prices throughout the stadium have made Thursday one of the most popular nights at NewBridge Bank Park this year and the series opener against Lexington should be no different.
Friday (Aug. 29) kicks off the first of three fireworks shows during the final homestand of 2008. The Hoppers will have their usual Fireworks Friday and Skyrocket Saturday displays and have added the additional fireworks extravaganza on Sunday following the Hoppers 7:00 p.m. contest.
The Hoppers wrap up their 2008 campaign Monday with a 12:30 p.m. start time. Greensboro is hoping to pack the park for a Labor Day afternoon affair and the Grasshoppers want everyone to come out for the "Hoppin' Fun - Help Us Be #1 Day".
This season the Hoppers have welcomed 405,829 fans to NewBridge Bank Park for 65 games and they are currently 35,284 away from topping the franchise's single-season attendance record for a fourth consecutive season.
Don't forget to take advantage of Greensboro's "Hoppin' Fun - Help Us Be #1 Day" discounts on Sept. 1 by getting your tickets today and we'll see you at the ballpark for $1 soda, $1 hot dogs and $1 beer.
Thanks in advance for joining the Hoppers for a homestand finale packed full of fun and excitement and being part of another record-breaking season at NewBridge Bank Park.
The Grasshoppers have welcomed over 1,250,000 fans to NewBridge Bank Park, becoming the only Class A team in the history of Minor League Baseball to draw over 400,000 fans and grow its attendance for three straight years in a new ballpark. They are the proud recipients of both the South Atlantic League's Club Merit Award and the General Manager of the Year Award for the past three years.
