CHARLESTON- Charleston RiverDogs catcher Jesus Montero has been named to the South Atlantic League's (SAL) Postseason All-Star team, the league office announced Monday.
"Jesus is a tremendous talent that I have had the opportunity to watch develop into great young player," said RiverDogs manager Torre Tyson. "He has held down the middle of our lineup for the whole season, and he is very deserving of the honor."
Montero, the No. 6 overall prospect in the Yankees organization according to Baseball America, is currently third in the league fashioning a .319 average with 17 home runs and 83 RBI, which ranks fifth-best in the circuit.
