Greensboro Grasshoppers News Release

Kannapolis, N.C. - Four of Greensboro's six hits Sunday left the park as Hunter Mense, Ozzie Martinez, Justin Jacobs and Mike Stanton all hit solo home runs. But Kannapolis doubled the Hoppers' hit total and took its second consecutive game over Greensboro, 6-4.

The Hoppers were down by four before Mense put Greensboro on the board with a leadoff home run in the fifth inning. Martinez led off the sixth inning with a home run and Jacobs had a solo blast in the seventh inning to pull the Hoppers within, but the Intimidators responded with a pair of runs in the home-half of the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Stanton made a final push for Greensboro with a one-out homer in the ninth inning, but it was the only run the Hoppers could produce in the inning as they dropped their second straight on the road to Kannapolis.

Greensboro starter Alex Sanabia was tagged with the loss after giving up four runs on eight hits in four innings of work. Levi Maxwell earned the win and improved to 14-5. He allowed just five hits, including three home runs, but did not allow another run or extra-base hit in his eight innings on the mound.

Game three of a current four-game set is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. Monday. It is Greensboro's second-to-last road game of the season.
