TULSA - Zach Dezenzo homered twice, Jacob Melton blasted a grand slam, and Julio Robaina delivered five shutout innings as the Hooks marched to a 12-0 triumph over the Drillers Tuesday night at ONEOK Field.

In penning their eighth shutout of the year on five Tulsa singles, Corpus Christi stands 9-3 in the last 12 games.

The Hooks did the bulk of their damage in a nine-run fourth inning as they sent 14 men to the plate. Base hits by Garrett Wolforth and Will Wagner, and a Zach Daniels walk loaded the bases for Melton, who crushed a 427-foot home run to the right of the batter's eye for his first pro grand slam.

Dezenzo, who clubbed a two-run dinger in the third followed Melton's slam with an opposite-field tater to right for his fourth two-homer game of the season.

Chad Stevens' two-run single and consecutive RBI doubles by Wagner and Kenedy Corona capped the fruitful fourth.

Corona opened the scoring with a two-out RBI single in the second.

Robaina held the Drillers to three hits and two walks in five stellar innings, lowering his season ERA to 3.35. The 22-year-old southpaw from Havana has worked 11.1 scoreless frames in two starts vs. Tulsa in 2023.

Peyton Plumlee struck out the side while stranding a two-out single in the sixth.

Cole McDonald blanked the Drillers in the seventh and eighth.

Logan VanWey, who hails from nearby Joplin, MO, fanned three in a perfect ninth.
