(CORPUS CHRISTI, TX)- Three home runs lifted the RoughRiders (14-21, 43-62) over the Hooks (17-18, 44-61) Friday night in their 4-2 win.
Hooks' starter Tim McClaskey (5-8) gave up all four runs due to the homers. Juan Senreiso and Mike Nickeas went back to back with their solo bombs in the third inning giving Frisco a quick 2-0 lead. In the fifth inning with Jace Brewer on first, Adam Fox hit a screaming liner over the left field fence for his third home run of the year.
J.R. Phillips got things going in the eighth with a solo home run to right field that landed in the swimming pool area. The home run is Phillips second of the season and his first at Whataburger Field.
In the ninth inning, Tommy Whiteman walked to lead off the inning and advanced to third with one out on a couple wild pitches by RoughRiders' reliever Agustin Montero. Eric Riggs scored Whiteman from third with a long sacrifice fly to center for his forty-first RBI of the season.
