Honkers Postponed in Duluth
June 23, 2011 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Rochester Honkers News Release
(Rochester, MN) -- Rain continued to torment the Rochester Honkers Baseball Club, having a third consecutive washout, this time against Duluth at Wade Stadium. The Honkers and Huskies were slated to play a 7:05pm start today, Thursday, June 23, but heavy rains forced the teams to play a doubleheader tomorrow starting at 5:05pm.
The doubleheader will be played as two seven inning games, as per league rules. This is the fifth time rain has forced a game to be played the next day as a doubleheader for the Honkers this season. The Honkers have not played since Monday, June 20, when they fell to the St. Cloud River Bats, 12-2.
The Honkers will hopefully get all three games that were scheduled against the Huskies in before returning home on Sunday for a two game series against the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers on Sunday, June 26 and Monday June 27 at 1:05pm both days.
