Bucks Sweep NWL's Wednesday Awards

Rochester, MN - The Northwoods League has named Waterloo Bucks third baseman Cameron Perkins the NWL Player of the Night and left-handed pitcher Michael Wisecarver the NWL Pitcher of the Night for their efforts on Wednesday, June 22 versus the Madison Mallards.

Perkins,a sophomore from Purdue University, had a nice night at the plate against NWL rival Madison. The 6'5'' infielder was 3-for-4 with a double and a home run, three runs scored and two RBI at renovated Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo. In 22 games in 2011, Perkins is hitting .314 with eight extra base hits and 10 RBIs.

Wisecarver,a junior from Nicholls State University, picked up his second win of the 2011 season for the Bucks as he shutout the hot hitting Mallards. Wisecarver threw a rain shortened complete game as he finished with nine strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work. The 5'10'' lefty from Kenner, Louisiana now has a 1.99 earned run average in 22.2 innings pitched.

The Bucks start a five-game road trip tonight, facing the Eau Claire Express for the first of a three-game series at Carson Park. The Bucks return home on Wednesday, June 29 to start a three-game homestand versus the Wisconsin Woodchucks. Season tickets and single-game tickets are currently on sale.
