Lunkers to Give Back at Ronald McDonald House

Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers News Release
(Brainerd Lakes Area) - When the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers begin a two-game series with Rochester this weekend, they will be doing more than just playing baseball.
After the game on Sunday, June 26, the Lunkers will be serving dinner at the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester. They will be serving a baseball themed dinner of hot dogs, brats, chips and potato salad.
Jenny Levendoski, the sister of Lunkers field manager Ryan Levendoski, will organize the dinner. Jenny gave birth to a baby daughter, Eliza, in September. Eliza was born two months premature and was diagnosed with Down's syndrome. While Eliza received care from St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Jenny was able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House free of charge. Now, Eliza is doing great, and Jenny is organizing the event to show her appreciation for the Ronald McDonald House and all they did for her.
"We thought it would be a good idea to bring some players over and make it a baseball event," said Lunkers field manager Ryan Levendoski. "We're going to try and bring some life into the Ronald McDonald house and have a good time with those kids and those families.
"We've got a very good group of guys and I think they will have a very good understanding of what they are going to see. They are going to see some things that they probably took for granted most of their lives."
The Lunkers coaching staff and players will be visiting the Ronald McDonald House in Downtown Rochester after their 1:05 p.m. game on Sunday, June 26 against the Rochester Honkers. For more information, call (218) 824-3474.
