Lexington Legends News Release

Matt Page had two home runs and a double to lead the Hagerstown offense, and the Suns outscored the Lexington Legends 7-5 Sunday in Hagerstown. With a strong wind blowing out toward right field, six home runs were hit in the game.

The Suns opened the scoring with a run in the second inning when Page doubled, moved to third on a passed ball and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jorge Tillero.

A home run by Lexington's Jecksson Flores, his first of the year, tied the game in the third.

Page started a four-run rally with a leadoff homer in the fourth. Austin Davidson drew a walk and scored when Tillero doubled to center field. After Edwin Lora sacrificed Tiller to third and Cody Dent lined out to center field, Telmito Agustin followed with a two-run homer, and the Suns led 5-1.

Page hit another solo homer in the fifth, and the Suns scored another run in the inning when Davidson, who had singled, came home on a hit by Tillero.

The Legends rallied in the seventh against reliever Mariano Rivera, a South Atlantic League All-Star and the son of former New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera. Samir Duenez led off the inning with his fifth home run of the year. Anderson Miller singled, moved to second on a ground out by Michael Hill, and scored on a double by Ben Johnson. A two-run homer by Travis Maezes cut the lead to two at 7-5, and neither team scored again.

Hagerstown starter Matt DeRosier (2-3) got the win. He worked six innings, allowed only two hits and one run. He struck out seven batters and walked none. After Rivera pitched the seventh, Philip Walby pitched two hitless, scoreless innings to earn his first save.

Legends starter Emilio Ogando (4-6) was the losing pitcher.

The Legends return home to open a three-game series against the West Virginia Power Monday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
