Home Point Streak on the Line

Rockford, Ill. - The BMO Harris Bank Center is the site for a clash between the Rockford IceHogs (29-22-5-3) and the Rochester Americans (28-19-4-4) for the first time since Feb. 14, 2009. The IceHogs hold a two-point lead in the playoff standings over the Americans going into tonight's game. The puck is set to drop at 7 p.m.

Tonight's contest is a WXRX Dollar Day game. Fans can take advantage of $1 hot dogs, sodas, beers and companion tickets.

Rockford saw its 11-game point streak come to an end last weekend, but return home to a seven-game, home point streak (6-0-0-1) that dates back to Jan. 25.

The reigning CCM/AHL Player of the Month for February, Jeremy Morin, notched a point in every February game for Rockford (9g-9a). The last time that the Auburn, N.Y. winger failed to record a point was at Rochester on Jan. 31. Morin's point streak is now sitting at 12 games.

The Americans also carried a point-streak into last weekend, seeing it end against the Chicago Wolves on Friday night. In the five games prior to their tilt against the Wolves, Rochester had gone 4-0-0-1 and are 4-1-0-2 in their last seven contests.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Mar. 8 vs. Milwaukee Admirals: Game time is at 7 p.m. for another Midwest Division tilt for the IceHogs and Admirals at the BMO Harris Bank Center. This will be the second of a home-and-home set for these two rivals. The game is Autism Awareness night at the BMO and Autism Awareness Ribbon Magnets will be handed out. Local singer/songwriter Anthony Billups will be performing live pre-game and during intermissions. Billups is from Rockton, Ill. and is featured on A&E's new reality tv series, Crazy Hearts: Nashville.
