Coyotes Trade Rundblad, Brisebois to Chicago for a Second Round Draft Choice in 2014

GLENDALE, ARIZONA -Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have acquired a second round draft choice in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defensemen David Rundblad and Mathieu Brisebois.

The 23-year-old Rundblad has recorded 0-1-1 with six penalty minutes (PIM) in 12 games with the Coyotes this season. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound native of Lycksele, Sweden has registered 1-8-9 and 12 PIM in 50 career NHL games. Rundblad was originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the first round (17th overall) in the 2009 Entry Draft.

The 21-year-old Brisebois posted 1-3-4 with 30 PIM in 28 games with Portland (AHL) this season. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound native of Mont St-Hilaire, Quebec originally signed as a free agent on March 6, 2013.
