Raise the Curtain: The Tulsa Oilers and Wichita Thunder square off tonight in the home opener for the Oilers. This also opens a four game homestand for the Oilers, one of two on the season (their longest of the year)

Records: Oilers are 0-2-0 with 0 points in fourth place in the Northeast Division. Wichita is 2-1-0 with 4 points in second place in the Northwest Division.

Season Series: Tonight is the second of 10 meetings between these two teams this season. Wichita beat the Oilers 4-1 last Friday night in Wichita in the season opener for both teams.

Home Openers: Since the Central Hockey League came back to life in 1992, the Oilers record in their first game at home is 10-4-0. Dating back to 1928 in Tulsa pro hockey history (off and on), the Oilers all time record in home openers is 25-23-6.

Recent Action: The Oilers dropped their second straight road game last night, a 5-3 decision in Oklahoma City. The Oilers scored first, but surrendered five straight goals before closing the gap to two goals early in the third period. Wichita also gave up five straight goals after scoring first in Colorado last night and lost 5-1. It was the Thunder's first road game and first loss of the season.

Early Streaks: While only playing two games, the Oilers have had Mike Wiggins and David Masse score a goal in each game. Defenseman Matt Medley and center Bryan LaChapelle each have at least one assist in each of the first two games.

Full Monty: Rookie goaltender Jason Montgomery entered last nights game in the second period in the second period and saved 18 of the 19 shots he faced. He now has a 1.85 goals against average and a .947 save percentage.

Didn't Take Long: Playing in his first game for the Oilers last night, defenseman John Donnelly scored a goal in the second period. It was a power play goal on a slapshot from the blueline.

Next Up: The Oilers continue this four game homestand next weekend with a Friday night contest against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs and a Saturday night game against the Memphis RiverKings. Both games start at 7:35 p.m.
