Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release

Today, the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club announced they have re-signed import running back and return specialist Corey Holmes. Details of the contract were not disclosed.

Holmes is entering his fourth season with the Green and White. After a breakthrough 2002 season, in which the Mississippi Valley State product was named CFL Special Teams Player-of-the-Year, injuries hampered his play in 2003.

However, Holmes still finished the campaign with three rushing touchdowns and one punt return for a major, while leading the team in all-purpose yards with 1,344.

Roughrider head coach Danny Barrett said re-signing Holmes was a definite priority for the club.

"Corey brings the team tremendous talent as a rusher and receiver and I still believe he's the best return man in the CFL," said Barrett. "He is a valuable asset and we are looking forward to Corey regaining his form in 2004."
