
Holladay Returns To Scorpions

[ RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-Just prior to this weekends' games, the Scorpions were forced to make a roster move. Erik Johnson has been placed on the 14-day inured reserve with an upper body injury. New Mexico has re-signed Jay Holladay who was released earlier this week.
Holladay will be in the lineup tonight when the Scorpions face-off against Odessa at the Santa Ana Star Center. The defenseman has appeared in 34 games collecting four assists and 34 penalty minutes.
Johnson came to the Scorpions in an early season trade with Youngstown and has fit in well on the front lines. In 33 games combined he scored 22 points (6G, 16A) with a +10 plus/minus rating.
New Mexico returns home for a pair of weekend games starting on Friday, January 18th. When the Scorpions take the ice versus Odessa , they will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game to benefit the American Cancer Society.
On Saturday, January 19th the Special Olympics will be recognized when the Scorpions host Wichita. The first 1,500 children inside the Santa Ana Star Center receive a Jr. Jersey courtesy of Peoples Mortgage. Prior to the game, the New Mexico Ice Holes will play the Media at 4 p.m. to benefit Special Olympics New Mexico. Fans holding a ticket for the Scorps game get in free to the Ice Holes charity game.
