Bucks fall in Oklahoma City 3-1

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Oklahoma City Blazers 3-1 Friday night, in front of 7,517 fans at the Ford Center.

The loss was the second in a row for the Bucks, putting them at 26-10-2 (54 points)

The Blazers (17-16-4) jumped out in front 10:07 into the first period on a two-on-one break, as D.J Jelitto scored from the left crease past Bucks goaltender John Ceci. Jelitto took a pass from Marty Standish to notch his 16th goal of the season.

Laredo's special teams were busy in the first 20 minutes, as they killed off three Blazer power-plays, while going 0-2 with the man advantage.

The Bucks (10-6-2 on the road) were outshot in the first period 10-7.

The Blazers took a 2-0 lead with 2:43 left in the second period as Michael Kaye scored off of a backhanded rebound past Ceci from the left side of the slot. It was Kaye's 8th goal of the season. Former Buck Tyler Harder picked up his first point as a Blazer picking up the assist on Kaye's goal.

The Bucks were outshot in the second period 20-7, as Ceci stopped 19 shots, several of which were at point blank range.

The Bucks cut the Blazer's lead to 2-1 5:07 into the third period as Adam Rivet sent a slap shot from the top of the left circle past Blazers goaltender Jason Wolfe. Rivet's 12th goal was assisted by Jeff Bes and Andrew Desjard ins.

With the Blazers leading 3-1 Laredo would pull Ceci to get an extra attacker.

The Blazers outshot the Bucks 41-21.
