West Michigan Whitecaps News Release
COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The first homestand of the second half of the Whitecaps' 2011 season is swinging into full gear on Wednesday. The holiday weekend has tons to offer Whitecaps fans of all ages, including comedy, aliens, bobbleheads, fireworks and a holiday barbeque...and baseball, of course.
On Wednesday, June 29, our beloved friend Myron Noodleman brings his hilarious antics to town. The hippest nerd in baseball will entertain the crowd during the 7 p.m. game against the South Bend Silver Hawks. Also, don't miss the post-game fireworks. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the weather forecast is perfect!
Space aliens invade the ballpark on Thursday, June 30 for the 7 p.m. contest (6 p.m. gates) against the Fort Wayne TinCaps. The Whitecaps will wear special outer-space jerseys and the ballpark will be hopping with alien sights and sounds. The stellar night will conclude with a post-game concert with Outer Vibe on the Miller Lite House Deck. Thursday is also an Altogas Thrifty Thursday with $2 Pepsi and beer, $2 soft pretzels $1.00 Cole's Breadsticks and $1 Hot Dogs.
The popular Tiger Friday series continues on Friday, July 1 with an appearance by former Tiger infielder and third base coach Dick Tracewski, who will be at Fifth Third Ballpark to meet fans and sign autographs. In addition, Tracewski bobble heads will be given to the first 1,000 fans through the gates, which open at 5:45 p.m. for the 7 p.m. game against the TinCaps.
The Independence Day celebration is set for Saturday, July 2, a 7 p.m. game (gates open at 5 p.m.) against the TinCaps to close out the homestand. A holiday special all-you-can-eat barbeque feast is available in the Pepsi Stadium Club for fans to enjoy. A game ticket to this unique seating area in the outfield stadium club plus the barbeque, which includes all-you-can-eat hot dogs, burgers, brats, pulled pork, chicken breast sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad, chips, cookies and soft drinks, is just $27.50 for adults and $21.50 for kids 12 and under.
