DAYTON, OH - Right-hander Daniel Renken struck out a career-high fourteen to lead the Dayton Dragons (4-2, 39-37) to a 7-1 win over the Lansing Lugnuts (4-2, 42-31) on Wednesday night at Dayton's Fifth Third Field.

Renken (Win, 3-8) recorded the first twelve outs of the game via the strikeout, at one point striking out ten Lugnuts in a row, tying a Midwest League record.

Lansing starter Sean Nolin (Loss, 1-2) was removed from the game in the second inning due to injury, but not before Donald Lutz hit his eleventh home run of the campaign.

The Lugnuts got a solid innings-eating effort from Sam Strickland, tossing four innings, after surrendering four runs and scattering eight hits.

Juan Duran and Yorman Rodriguez stung Lansing pitching, each with three hit nights to lead the Dragons offense. David Vidal and Ronald Torreyes added two hits apiece, including RBI doubles.

Carlos Perez had a 2-for-4 night at the plate as the only bright spot in the Lugnuts offense.

The Lugnuts head to Midland to take on interstate rival Great Lakes on Thursday, sending left-hander Egan Smith (2-2, 3.60) to face Loons righty Angel Sanchez (2-1, 1.83).

The Lugnuts' next series at Cooley Law School Stadium will take place Sunday, July 3rd, through Friday, July 8th. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.lansinglugnuts.com, at the stadium box office, and by calling 517-485-4500.
