Sacramento River Cats News Release

West Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats announced today the 2007 Pacific Coast League playoff schedule and that tickets for all 2007 River Cats playoff games at Raley Field will go on sale on Wednesday, August 22nd to coincide with the start of the team's final regular season homestand. The River Cats currently hold a 7.0 game lead over second place Tucson in the PCL Pacific Conference Southern Division with 19 games remaining for each team. The Cats' "magic number" to clinch their 6th division title in 8 years is thirteen (13).

Should the team hold its lead and qualify for post-season play, it will host games 3, 4 and 5 (Sept. 7, 8 and 9) of the 5-game Pacific Conference Championship Series at Raley Field (games 4 and 5 if necessary). If the season ended today, the Cats' first-round opponent would be the Salt Lake Bees (Triple-A affiliate of the LA Angels of Anaheim) who own a 5.0 game lead in the Pacific Conference Northern Division.

If the River Cats advance to the PCL Championship Series (also a best-of-five format), they will again host games 3, 4 and 5 (Sept. 14, 15 and 16) at Raley Field (games 4 and 5, again, if necessary). If the River Cats were to win this series and be crowned as Pacific Coast League Champions, they would then play the International League Champion in the Bricktown Showdown, a one-game Triple-A Championship in Oklahoma City broadcast worldwide on ESPN2.
