TODAY'S OPPONENT:

The Memphis Redbirds are the Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 1998. Last season, the Redbirds finished third in the American North with a record of 58-86.

VS. MEMPHIS:

The RedHawks lead the season series 8-6. The RedHawks took three of four July 16-19 at Memphis. The Hawks took three of four April 13-16 at The Brick. The Redbirds took three of four to start the season at AutoZone Park April 5-8. Last season, the RedHawks won the season series 11-5.

TODAY'S GAME:

This is game 123 of the season, and the third of a 4-game series between Oklahoma and Memphis. This is the 15th of 16 meetings between the RedHawks and Redbirds this season.

LAST GAME:

The RedHawks snapped a 5-game losing streak as the defeated the Redbirds 4-0 last night. The Hawks got on the board early, scoring three runs on three hits, including a Nate Gold 2-run homer, in the first inning. They added another run in the fifth when Tug Hulett drove the first pitch of the inning over the center field wall. The RedHawks received a strong start from Chris Baker, who threw seven scoreless innings.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Eric Hurley

is on the hill for the 10th time this season as a RedHawk. He lost his start Saturday against Iowa, allowing four runs on eight hits in six innings. Hurley hasn't faced the Redbirds in his career. Randy Keisler will pitch for the Redbirds. Keisler is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA in two starts against the RedHawks this season.

FINDING HOMEFIELD ADVANTAGE:

The RedHawks ended a season-low 7-game home losing streak last night. They won for just the seventh time in their last 23 games at the Brick. The Hawks have a 5.07 ERA at home during that stretch.

OFFENSE LOOKING FOR RUNS:

The RedHawks have scored just 27 runs in their last 10 games, going 3-7. The Hawks are hitting just .251 with eight homers over the last 10 games. They have scored more than two runs in a game only three times during that stretch.

HITTING HULETT:

Hulett has hit a career-high eight home runs after homering in the fifth last night. He's hitting .345 since June 27th, raising his batting average 43 points to .281. Hulett is 5-for-8 with three doubles and a home run in this series.

RELAFORD AT THE PLATE: Desi Relaford

continued to hit since rejoining the RedHawks, going 2-for-3 last night. He is hitting .406 (13-32) with a homer and four RBIs since rejoining the team Aug. 5. Relaford has at least two hits in five of his last six games.

STARTERS KEEP HAWKS IN GAME:

Edinson Volquez and Baker have combined to allow only one run in the first two games of this series, making it through the seventh inning in both starts. It's the first time since July 18 and 19 at Memphis that the RedHawks have had starters make it through the seventh inning in back-to-back starts. John Rheinecker and Volquez combined to limit the Redbirds to two runs in 15 IP.

FELDMAN GETS IT DONE IN RELIEF: Scott Feldman

hasn't allowed an earned run in his last six appearances out of the bullpen, dating back to Aug. 3. He has allowed just three hits while striking out five in 6.2 innings. Feldman threw two scoreless inning, striking out four Redbirds in his last appearance Tuesday night.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Freddy Guzman

leads the league with 43 stolen bases. Tug Hulett is fourth with 84 runs scored.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

The RedHawks are 8-11 on Thursday this season, and they're 18-23 against lefties...the 7-game home losing streak was the the third longest streak in Hawks history. A 9-game streak 6/17-25/05 is the longest losing streak at The Brick...the RedHawks have lost four of their last five home series...the Hawks improved to 11-47 when they score four runs or fewer...the RedHawks have at least one extra-base hit in 17 straight games... Victor Diaz has 25 RBIs in his last 26 games...Nate Gold has six homers and 15 RBIs in 14 August games...
