Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill. - Stringing together six straight victories, the Rockford IceHogs will put their season-long winning streak on the line tonight in a Midwest Divisional showdown with the Milwaukee Admirals.
Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. as the first 1,500 fans to enter the BMO Harris Bank Center will receive an IceHogs Sock Monkey, courtesy of BMO Harris Bank.
Fans are also encouraged to team up with the IceHogs, BMO Harris Bank and the United Way of Rock River Valley's sock drive. Those who donate a pair of new kid's socks will receive a buy-one get-one free ticket voucher for select remaining IceHogs home games. Boxes for the socks will be located in the concourse and box office of the BMO Harris Bank Center.
To purchase tickets to tonight's matchup, call (815) 968-5222, visit IceHogs.com, any Ticketmaster outlet or by visiting the BMO Harris Bank Center box office.
This evening's contest can also be viewed on 23.2 Antenna TV, Comcast Cable channel-436, Charter-970, Mediacom-101 or online through AHLlive.com.
Rockford sits in third place in the Midwest Division with 58 points - two points ahead of Milwaukee, but three points back of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Thus far on the campaign, the IceHogs are 4-2-1-0 against the Nashville Predators' top affiliate. It marks the first meeting between the two foes since Rockford's 2-1 come-from-behind overtime victory over Milwaukee on Jan. 12.
The IceHogs power-play unit has excelled during their winning streak, last night going three-for-six while on the man-advantage, and has converted in seven consecutive contests. The IceHogs power-play unit ranks second in the AHL, and will go up against the league's 28th ranked penalty kill unit during tonight's tilt.
Brandon Pirri and Jeremy Morin have been key contributors to the IceHogs success, with each garnering points in seven-straight games. Pirri notched three assists, while Morin potted a pair of power-play goals in Rockford's 4-1 victory last night against Peoria. During their hot stretches, Pirri has 14 points (4g-10a) and Morin has 10 points (3g-7a).
Next Home Game: Friday, March 15 vs. Chicago Wolves. Puck hits the ice at 7:05 p.m. as the IceHogs and Wolves go at it at the BMO Harris Bank Center in an Illinois Lottery Cup matchup. It will also be Country Night at the BMO sponsored by Frito Lay and Q98.5, where fans will be treated to live music from Back Country Roads. There will also be a mechanical bull on site for fans to ride and a contest for best-dressed cowboy/cowgirl.
