Hogs Release 17, Hawks Recall Two, Hog Talk Scheduled

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Thursday that the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League have released 17 players from the team's training camp.

All 17 players released were in Rockford training camp on a try out.  With the release of 17 players and the recall of Bryan Bickell and Rob Klinkhammer to the Blackhawks earlier in the day, the IceHogs training camp roster now stands at 24.

Forwards:  Adam Huxley, Tommy Lange, Matt MacIlvane, Daniel Michalsky, Derek Patrosso, Evan Rankin, Chris Robertson, Brad Schell, Ryan Smyth, Jereme Tendler and Jaime Zimmel

Defensemen: Jason Legault, Jason Lepine, Milan Maslonka, Jamie Milam, Steven Oleksy and Brock Wilson

BICKELL AND KLINKHAMMER RECALLED TO CHICAGO

(Photo by Jim Orlando)Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled forwards Bryan Bickell and Rob Klinkhammer from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.  In addition, the team today placed forward Danny Bois and defenseman Richard Petiot on waivers.

This is Klinkhammer's first recall to the Blackhawks and the National Hockey League.  The third-year pro has played in 142 professional games, all in the American Hockey League.  He has 27 career goals and 30 assists.

The Blackhawks' training camp roster now stands at 28 active players, which includes 17 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders.

BUD LIGHT HOG TALK RETURNS TO COUSIN'S IN 2009-10

Coaches show returns to Cousin's on Mondays from 6-7 p.m.

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs announced on Thursday that the American Hockey League club, along with Bud Light, will host 20 Bud Light Hog Talks at Cousin's Bar and Grill throughout the 2009-10 season. Bud Light Hog Talk will run from 6-7 p.m. on Monday nights.

This season's first Bud Light Hog Talk will take place on Monday, Oct. 5, the day after the team returns from their season opener in Peoria.  The show will be hosted by WXRX's Jim Stone and each week will feature different coaches, players and front office personnel.

After a week off on Monday, Oct. 19, as the team returns home from an eastern road swing through Ohio and Ontario, Bud Light Hog Talk will run every Monday night through Dec. 7.  After a two week break the show resumes on Dec. 28 and will finish out the season with two dates in January, three in February, four in March and a final show on April 12 after the 2009-10 regular season has concluded.

Cousin's Bar and Grill is located on the corner of East State Street and Perryville Road in Rockford.  Cousin's will feature different food and Bud Light specials every Monday night for IceHogs fans.  The show will be broadcast live on the IceHogs flagship radio station 1330 AM WNTA.
