
Hoetmer Joins Blades Staff as Mental Performance Coach

Saskatoon, Sask. - The Saskatoon Blades are pleased to announce the hiring of Josh Hoetmer as the club's new mental performance coach.
Based out of Lethbridge, Alberta, Hoetmer works a professional mental performance consultant specializing in working with athletes and coaches in helping to develop perspective and mental skills to improve performance, enjoyment of sport, and life skills. Joshua is a professional member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association and was the recipient the 2017 Canadian Sport Psychology Association Young Professional of the Year award.
Hoetmer completed his Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Lethbridge and brings a wealth of experience in various different sports and age groups. Josh's list of past and present experience includes working with the Vauxhall Academy of Baseball, the University of Lethbridge Men's Basketball team, Team Alberta - Canada Winter Games, Hockey Canada, and NCAA and U Sports athletes.
Josh served as the mental strength coach for Team Canada Red at the 2017 World U17 Hockey Challenge, winning a silver medal alongside Blades' associate general manager Steve Hildebrand who was the director of operations for the team.
Hoetmer will remain in Lethbridge while working for the Blades, making frequent trips to Saskatoon to work with the team and staff while also joining the team on the road during Central Division trips.
