January 19, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Mississippi RiverKings News Release
SOUTHAVEN, MS --- Make plans to come out and take part in an evening of fun with the RiverKings tonight at Windy City Grille in Hernando, this evening from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. RiverKings mascots and staffers will be on hand, prizes will be given out as we test your hockey knowledge with a little trivia, and you can enjoy the great food and good times at Windy City Grille. It will be Hockey Night in Hernando tonight! Due to a last minute change in the team's schedule, RiverKings players will not be able to attend this evening's event. With the lack of available ice in Southaven until Thursday, the team has found a practice opportunity for today and tomorrow in Nashville and will be there getting ready for this weekend's schedule of games against the Missouri Mavericks.
RIVERKINGS REMATCH THIS WEEKEND WITH MISSOURI This weekend, the rematch begins between the RiverKings and the Missouri Mavericks on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:05 PM.
Friday night is Faith and Family Night with church groups invited to make it a special night for them. The Samaritans and Entergy's Power to Care Partnership is being spotlighted as the non-profit MVP of the night.
Saturday is Ducks Unlimited/Pack the House/Arena White Out Night, as the RiverKings look to pack the place with hockey fans wearing white to support your home hockey team. Wear white to back your home town hockey team this Saturday night.
RIVERKINGS FANS TO SUPPORT HAITIAN EARTHQUAKE RELIEF THIS WEEKEND!
Fans of the Mississippi RiverKings will be able to give as they come in the building both nights toward the relief effort for Haitian earthquake victims.
Donations collected at each entrance for Friday and Saturday nights' games between the RiverKings and the Missouri Mavericks will go to the Christian organization "Compassion International." One-hundred percent of the proceeds will go to Compassion International's work to provide help to the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.
Known for matching needy children in impoverished areas of the world with family sponsors in this country and elsewhere, Compassion International is now seeking support for the victims of the 7.0 magnitude quake outside the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince.
