Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs beat the Barrie Colts 7-4 in the annual Pink in the Rink game Sunday afternoon at the Meridian Centre.
Andrew Mangiapane scored first for the Colts 1:15 into the game, shortly before the lights went out due to a technical difficulty.
After the lights came back on, the IceDogs took over. Goals from Brendan Perlini, Billy Jenkins, Aleksandar Mikulovich and a pair by Josh Ho-Sang gave the IceDogs a 5-1 lead after 20 minutes.
Garrett Hooey made it 5-2 early in the second, but Ho-Sang answered with his third goal of the game. He is now riding a seven game point streak, with 13 points in that span. Joseph Blandisi made it 6-3 with less than a minute to go in the second.
Cody Payne and Cordell James exchanged goals in the third, but the IceDogs were just too much for the Colt s, winning their third straight.
Brent Moran made 25 saves in the win.
The IceDogs travel to Owen Sound Wednesday night to take on the Attack for the second time this season.
