Hitting Good But Scoring Not
July 1, 2018 - Southern League (SL1)
Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
While the Lookouts stayed even with seven hits they still lost to the Smokies 5-2 last night. Hitting hasn't been the problem but scoring has. The Nooga Nine have scored just three runs in their last twenty innings. Andy Wilkins would hit his third home run of the series but it was a solo shot that got the Looks within two. After scoring the tieing run in the third on a fielders choice with the bases loaded the rally stopped there. Smokies pitching proved too much. An unearned run in the fourth and the Wikins round tripper would not be enough to catch the Smokies. Monday's game will have LHP Lewis Thorpe (4-4,4.06) facing RHP Matt Swarmer (0-1,5.63). Game time at 7:00 with the pre-game set for 6:45 on 96.1 FM or on MiLB.com.
