
Hitmen To Face Brandon Wheat Kings In Eastern Conference Final

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen will meet the Brandon Wheat Kings in the third round of the 2009 Western Hockey League Playoffs.
The Best-of-Seven Husky Eastern Conference Championship Series is a 2-2-1-1-1 format with Calgary having home ice advantage.
This will be the fourth time in playoff history the Hitmen and Wheat Kings will meet.
In 1998 Brandon eliminated Calgary in five games to win the Eastern Conference Championship. In 2005 the Wheat Kings ousted the Hitmen in seven games to win their second round series. In 2007 the Hitmen dropped the first two games but roared back to win four straight and capture their second round series.

The Hitmen have advanced to the third round of the 2009 playoffs by ousting the Edmonton Oil Kings in four games to win their opening round series, and then eliminating the Lethbridge Hurricanes in four games to sweep their second round series.
