Brandon would grab their first lead of the game just under five minutes into the final frame on the power from Nolan Flamand. With Ethan Buenaventura on the bench, a timely power play for Calgary resulted in Tulk's second goal of the game to tie it with 45 seconds remaining in regulation, forcing overtime.
A dangerous opportunity for Brandon was stopped by Ethan Buenaventura forcing a 2-on-1 the other direction with Oliver Tulk finishing a pass from Carter Yakemchuk to win the game 33 seconds into overtime.
