
Hitmen Defeat Hurricanes in Comeback Victory

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen welcomed the Lethbridge Hurricanes to the Scotiabank Saddledome for 2:00 p.m. start. Calgary secured their first win in six games in a thrilling come from behind victory.
The Hitmen were the ones to open the scoring with Oliver Tulk's fifth of the season - a one-time shot off a pass from Sean Tschigerl who extended his point streak to the three games. The rest of the period would remain scoreless. Lethbridge would go on to score three unanswered goals to take the lead heading into the third. Two power play goals from Logan McCutcheon and Tyson Zimmer three minutes apart got Lethbridge started. Dustin Renas followed up with one at 11:21 to make it 3-1 for the visitors.
The third period belonged to Calgary, as they returned the favour scoring three unanswered goals. They mounted their comeback starting with a power play goal from Sean Tschigerl at 5:14. Calgary kept on the pressure, tying the game with tally from Carson Wetsch. Lethbridge took a penalty with just under a minute left in regulation. Looking like it was headed to overtime, Carter Yakemchuk pulled out the heroics scoring off a slap shot from the point, putting it past Brady Smith for the game winner.
Calgary swept the three stars. Sean Tschigerl earned third star with a goal and two assists. Ben Kindel had a standout performance, securing three points and second star. Carter Yakemchuk would take first star with an assist and the game winning marker. Ethan Buenaventura made 34 saves in today's contest. Both Carter Yakemchuk and Sean Tschigerl have extended their points streaks to three games.
Calgary now has a four-day break before gearing up for their first three-game weekend of the season, which starts Friday, Oct. 27 in Lethbridge in a rematch with the Hurricanes. It's then back home to the 'Dome to host Red Deer on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7:00 p.m. followed by a 6:00 p.m. visit from the Portland Winterhawks on Sunday, Oct. 29.
