Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club, together with Build-A-Bear Workshop, is proud to announce details on a new community project in support of the 21st annual Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss.
On Tuesday, Nov. 10, Hitmen players will join kids from Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary at two Build-A-Bear Workshop locations (Chinook Centre and CrossIron Mills) to make bears for the Dec. 6 game that sees fans toss a small or medium-sized stuffed toy onto the ice when the Hitmen score their first goal. In addition, the players will create a custom bear to accompany their respective red-themed teddy bear jersey that will be put up for auction in support of the CBC Calgary Suncor Energy Food Bank Drive. Each auctioned bear will be dressed in a one-of-a-kind Hitmen T-shirt and will include a personalized voice message from a player.
"Being part of this community event is one of the highlights of the regular season for our team," said Colby Harmsworth, Hitmen captain. "Every holiday season, our fans rally behind this initiative and we are excited to expand the number of stuffed toys collected for local agencies through this new relationship with Build-A-Bear Workshop."
"Our partnership with the Calgary Hitmen is a wonderful way for Build-A-Bear Workshop to kick off the holiday season while helping children in our community," said Christine Cardall, chief workshop manager, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Chinook Centre. "We invite Calgary Hitmen fans to visit our Chinook Centre and CrossIron Mills stores to help make this holiday season brighter for deserving kids."
Fans are encouraged to stay tuned to HitmenHockey.com for auction details and join the conversation using #BigBuildYYC.

General admission tickets, starting at $12 for adults and $7.50 for kids (plus applicable fees), are still available at Ticketmaster locations and the Scotiabank Saddledome box office.
