Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

Brandon, MB. - Western Manitoba hockey fans will want to tune in to 94.7 Star FM Tuesday morning for a chance to bid on the Military style them jersey, to be worn by Wheat Kings' captain Macoy Erkamps at Wednesday's Annual Remembrance Day game.

Fans will have a chance to call in from 8am - 10am and place a bid with the Star FM Morning Mess. The number to call is (204) 727-STAR (7827).

Erkamps and the Wheat Kings will be 'donning' the military theme jerseys when the 2016 Memorial Cup Host Red Deer Rebels pay their first visit of the season to Westman Communications Group Place.

During CKLQ's play by play broadcast from Swift Current on Saturday night, longtime fan Adrian Swain purchased Tanner Kaspick's number 16 for $700.

All remaining jerseys will be auctioned off during Wednesday's game, which will also feature a Special Salute to Manitoba Minor Hockey, presented by Koch Fertilizer. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the United Way's Community Fund that supports military families.

Close to $20,000 was raised for the United Way during last November's first ever Military Appreciation Night.

Wednesday's game, which is a 4pm start at Westman Communications Group Place, will be the first of five straight home games for the Wheat Kings, who enter the week sitting in second place in the WHL's Eastern Division with a record of 11-5-0-2. Brandon is coming off back to back losses this past weekend.

Tickets to Wednesday's game are on sale Saturday at the Keystone Centre box office, by calling (204) 726-3555 or online at keystonecentre.com

The box office will open at 1pm Remembrance Day, November 11th.
