VS. WINSTON-SALEM: Today marks the first of 16 meetings between Lynchburg and Winston-Salem this year...Last season, Lynchburg went 12-8 against the Dash...The Carolina Mudcats (last year's High-A Cleveland Indians affiliate) were 13-7 against Winston in 2014 with a batting average of .282, which was the team's best mark against any opponent last season...C ALEX MONSALVE has the best numbers of any returning Mudcat with a .326 average, two doubles, a triple, two homers and 10 RBIs in 11 games...ADAM ENGEL hit .310 against the Mudcats last year with six stolen bases and five runs in only seven games...

HILLCATS HONORED: OF BRADLEY ZIMMER and RHP ADAM PLUTKO claimed Carolina League Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for the week of May 18 through May 24, marking the first time that Hillcats players earned both accolades in the same week since JAMIE ROMAK and KYLE BLOOM accomplished the feat for the week of July 9 through July 15 in 2007...It also represented the second weekly honor for both PLUTKO and ZIMMER in 2015...

ZIMMERING HOT: OF BRADLEY ZIMMER was tabbed as the Carolina League Player of the Week after a seven-day span that saw him hit .450 (9-for-20) with two doubles, two home runs, two stolen bases, three RBIs and 10 runs scored...It was his second honor, as he also claimed the distinction in the first week of the season...ZIMMER has reached base multiple times in each of his last 10 games, which includes six multi-hit performances...The No. 2 prospect in the Indians organization is 18-for-36 during this stretch with three home runs...Overall, ZIMMER has a .319 batting average, which is the highest among current Carolina League players who qualify...He is tied for the league lead with his teammate LUIGI RODRIGUEZ with eight home runs this year...Additionally, ZIMMER paces the league with 38 runs scored, ranks second with 86 total bases, and is third with 19 stolen bases, 22 walks, a .417 on-base percentage, and a .528 slugging percentage...ZIMMER has also been hit by a pitch in two of his last three games to assume the lead in that category with six...

RIDING SOLO: OF CLINT FRAZIER added to Lynchburg's absurd solo home run count Sunday with a solo homer in the ninth...As a team, Lynchburg leads the Carolina League with 34 home runs, but 23 of them have been solo...Amazingly enough, Lynchburg's 23 solo home runs are more than any other team in the Carolina League has for total home runs this year (Potomac and Carolina are second with 21 total homers each)...Of the other 11 deep flies, 10 have been two-run homers...Only one home run by the Hillcats this year has come with more than one man on base, a three-run homer by OF LUIGI RODRIGUEZ off of RHP LUCAS SIMS on April 28...OF BRADLEY ZIMMER exemplifies the team trend the best, as all eight of ZIMMER'S home runs have been solo shots...

SLUG IT OUT: Despite a .246 batting average that ranks in the bottom half of the league, Lynchburg leads the Carolina League in a wide range of offensive categories, including runs scored (206), RBIs (189), home runs (34), total bases (573), slugging percentage (.388), hit by pitch (26), sacrifice flies (19), and stolen base success rate (82.1 percent)...The 'Cats are only two away from the league lead with 82 doubles (Salem, 84)...

The UCLA product only surrendered one hit during his appearance and struck out multiple batters in each of the first four frames to earn his second Carolina League Pitcher of the Week honor in a three-week span...PLUTKO currently leads the league with multiple statistics, including his 1.27 ERA, .173 opponents' batting average, 0.70 WHIP, and 6.52 fewest baserunners per nine innings...PLUTKO only allowed 36 baserunners in 49 2/3 innings with Lynchburg and registered seven quality starts in his first eight outings of the year...In his only appearance where he fell short of a statistical quality start, he held Frederick to one run on five hits in five innings on April 21.
