
Pelicans Holding Auditions for On-Field Host

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (MAY 27, 2015) -- The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, announce an exciting opportunity for talented individuals to audition for the position of on-field host at Pelicans home games. Current on-field host Halley Castleberry will work the next Pelicans homestand before departing. The selected candidate must be able to attend all Pelicans home games for the remainder of the 2015 season.
Submissions should be in the form of a YouTube or Vimeo video reel. Interested candidates may email their demo reel to Jen Borowski, Senior Director of Community Development, at jborowski@myrtlebeachpelicans.com.
The ideal candidate should possess a vibrant personality with a television background that includes experience being in front of the camera. The position requires an outgoing, enthusiastic, and energetic individual who must be able to attend all Pelicans home games. Candidates are encouraged to include any and all video work as part of their reel for consideration. The successful candidate will also have a role in post-game wrap up videos, which are visible on the Pelicans YouTube channel.
The position as the Pelicans on-field host has proven to be a successful launch pad in the careers of past hosts. Current host Halley Castleberry has cherished her time with the Pelicans.
"Being a member of the Pelicans family has been such a blessing," Castleberry said. "I have met so many special people that I will truly miss. I will carry the experiences that I've gained with me always."
"I'll always be a Pelicans fan," she added.
A native of Lexington, North Carolina, Castleberry has hosted The Business Connection in Conway, South Carolina, and is currently the host of Hotelevision, The Business Connection, GTV22, Visit Myrtle Beach TV on Roku, and the official spokesperson for Car City, as well as the spokesperson in commercials for other various organizations.
Former Pelicans on-field hosts include current WCCB-TV News Co-host Kristen Zell, and WMBF-TV News Assistant News Specialist Matt Parris.

The 2015 season marks the 17th season for the Pelicans franchise and first as the Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.
