LAST TIME OUT: Lynchburg used three big innings and 12 two-out RBIs to leap out to a 14-1 lead and cruise to a 14-5 victory over Myrtle Beach Saturday night...JOE SEVER posted a career-high five RBIs, including a two-run homer, and LUIGI RODRIGUEZ also went deep to highlight a season-high 14 runs for the Hillcats...D.J. BROWN held Myrtle Beach to one run in 6 2/3 innings for the win...With two outs and IVAN CASTILLO at first base, it seemed the third inning would end as quietly as the first two, but the next five batters all reached to suddenly vault Lynchburg to a 6-0 advantage...BRADLEY ZIMMER walked, and a double-steal put two runners in scoring position for NELLIE RODRIGUEZ, who delivered with a two-run single to give him a league-leading 50 RBIs for the year...ERIC HAASE and MIKE PAPI followed with back-to-back RBI doubles to stretch the lead to 4-0, and SEVER capped off the outburst with a two-run homer to left field to give Lynchburg a 6-0 margin...In the sixth inning, CASTILLO served as the catalyst again with a one-out single...LUIGI RODRIGUEZ hit a deep home run opposite way to left field for his 10th homer of the year, which leads the Carolina League...CLINT FRAZIER and NELLIE RODRIGUEZ reached later in the inning, and HAASE lined his second double of the game to push the score to 10-1...HAASE has 26 RBIs in 39 games this year...Lynchburg tacked on four more in the eighth when five straight batters reached base with two outs again...NELLIE RODRIGUEZ and HAASE both singled, and PAPI walked to load the bases...SEVER tripled to right-center field to clear the bases and set a career high with five RBIs in the contest...Lynchburg led 13-1 at that point...JAMES ROBERTS added an RBI single to give the Hillcats a 14-1 lead and ensure that every Hillcat in the starting lineup had a hit in the game...BROWN held Myrtle Beach to one run and four hits in 6 2/3 innings for his second quality start in his last three outings...J.P. FEYEREISEN retired all four batters he faced, which included two strikeouts, to close out the night...

VS. MYRTLE BEACH: Lynchburg has a chance to sweep the Pelicans this weekend after Myrtle Beach swept a four-game series at City Stadium earlier this year, which included a 14-6 drubbing in the finale...Lynchburg and Myrtle Beach will square off a total of 17 times in 2015...Lynchburg will return to Myrtle Beach Thursday for a four-game series before the All-Star Break at TicketReturn.com Field...C ERIC HAASE is 6-for-12 against the Pelicans with two doubles and five RBIs in only three games...For the Pelicans, 1B JACOB ROGERS is batting .391 with a double, three home runs and nine RBIs...

OF LUIGI RODRIGUEZ hit his league-best 10th home run of the year Saturday night, an opposite-field two run shot that cleared the stands in left field...RODRIGUEZ also added a double in the contest, and as a result he now leads the league with 113 total bases and a .528 slugging percentage...On top of that, RODRIGUEZ can also be found on the league leaderboard in a tie for fourth in both RBIs (34) and runs scored (36)...LUIGI trails only his teammate NELLIE RODRIGUEZ for the league lead in extra-base hits, as LUIGI has 27 while the other RODRIGUEZ has 28...

ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, DIVE: Lynchburg will be looking for its first five-game winning streak of the season tonight...The Hillcats have won four consecutive games on three different occasions but failed to make it five in a row in their previous three tries...The most recent chance came earlier this week when the Hillcats were pummeled by the Salem Red Sox, 12-0 in a seven-inning game....In the three games where Lynchburg has been going for a five-game winning streak, the 'Cats have been outscored by a combined 34-6...

EXTRA, EXTRA! Lynchburg continued its parade of extra-base hits yesterday with half of the team's 16 hits going for at least a double...In the past three games, 21 of Lynchburg's 36 hits have gone for extra bases, including two triples and two home runs during the series at Myrtle Beach...Overall this year, the Hillcats have 197 extra-base hits, which is 43 more than the second-best team in the league (Salem, 154)...When broken down, the Hillcats also lead the league in each type of extra-base hit with 130 doubles, 20 triples, and 47 home runs...Lynchburg has posted an incredible .409 slugging percentage as a team, which is 30 points higher than the closest team (Carolina, .379)...

BRANTLEY BLANKING OPPONENTS AGAIN: With 2 2/3 scoreless innings Friday night, JUSTIN BRANTLEY has now gone 11 2/3 consecutive scoreless frames, which matches his own mark as the longest consecutive scoreless innings streak by any Hillcat this season...BRANTLEY also shut down opponents for 11 2/3 scoreless frames between April 28 and May 19...His last run allowed came on May 23 against Frederick...Since then, he has registered two saves and opponents have only hit .132 (5-for-38) against him...For 2015, BRANTLEY has an ERA of 1.67 and an opponents' batting of .189...

COME HELLER HIGH WATER: BEN HELLER notched his sixth save of the year Friday night with a perfect ninth that included two strikeouts...In his last 10 outings, HELLER has only surrendered one run and five hits over 10 1/3 frames...He has struck out nine during that span, and opponents are only batting 5-for-36 (.139) against the right-hander...

SPEAKING OF HIGH WATER: Fittingly enough, the Hillcats are trying to move above .500 for the first time since April 11 while at Myrtle Beach...After starting the year with a 2-1 record, Lynchburg went on a seven-game losing streak and has been below .500 ever since...The Hillcats have won eight of their last 10 games to return to even...

THIS DATE IN BASEBALL HISTORY: On June 14, 1870, at the Capitoline Grounds in Brooklyn, the Cincinnati Red Stockings see their 130 game consecutive winning streak (81 official games and 49 exhibitions) come to an end, losing to the Atlantics in extra innings, 8-7...During the game, in an effort not to hit the ball to George Wright, the Red Stockings' slick-fielding shortstop, hometown third baseman and captain, Bob Ferguson, bats left-handed, becoming the first-known switch hitter in baseball history.
