The Salem Red Sox have activated C Jordan Weems off of the disabled list and transferred C J.T. Watkins to Short Season-A Lowell. Weems is active for today's game vs Wilmington.
ACTIVATE: C Jordan Weems
REMOVE: C J.T. Watkins
Weems was placed on the disabled list on May 4 with a quad injury. He has appeared in ten games with Salem this season, recording a .242 batting average with three doubles and two RBI. He last appeared on May 1 vs Potomac, going 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Watkins has appeared in two games since being received from extended spring training on June 6, going 0-for-7. The two games were his first since August of 2012 after he spent two years serving in the United States Army.
The Red Sox roster sits at the league maximum of 25 with four players on the disabled list.
