
Hickory tops Legends 10-3

Jake Skole had a double, triple and a homer as the Hickory Crawdads pounded out 12 hits on their way to a 10-3 win over the Lexington Legends Saturday night in Hickory.
The Legends took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a walk to Jay Austin, a fielder's choice, and a double by Telvin Nash, but the Crawdads came back with two in the bottom half on a sacrifice fly by Tomas Telis and Skole's RBI triple. Hickory added three runs in the second, two scoring on a single by Odubel Herrera.
Hickory extended the lead to 7-1 on back-to-back homers in the fifth inning by Christian Villanueva and Skole. Ruben Sosa's two-run double in the sixth cut the lead to 7-3, but the Legends could get no closer.
Hickory has taken two out of three in the series, which concludes Sunday. Game time is 5 p.m.
