The Legends took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a walk to Jay Austin, a fielder's choice, and a double by Telvin Nash, but the Crawdads came back with two in the bottom half on a sacrifice fly by Tomas Telis and Skole's RBI triple. Hickory added three runs in the second, two scoring on a single by Odubel Herrera.

Hickory extended the lead to 7-1 on back-to-back homers in the fifth inning by Christian Villanueva and Skole. Ruben Sosa's two-run double in the sixth cut the lead to 7-3, but the Legends could get no closer.
