TOLEDO, Ohio -- Third baseman Mike Hessman went 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and five RBI, while right-hander Yorman Bazardo scattered just four hits over seven scoreless innings as Toledo rolled to a 9-1 victory over Indianapolis in front of 6,460 Monday night at Fifth Third Field.

The Mud Hens improve to 46-32 overall and 24-14 at home with their fourth consecutive win, while the Indians fall to 43-33 on the season and 19-19 on the road with their fifth straight setback.

Toledo scored four times in the first. SS Ramon Santiago (3-for-4, 1 R) and 2B Kevin Hooper (1-for-4, 2 R) led off with back-to-back walks before both runners moved into scoring position on a groundout. CF Ryan Raburn (1-for-3, 2 R) then loaded the bases with a free pass before Hessman cleared the bases with his 21st two bagger of the season -- a line drive to left center. DH Jack Hannahan (2-for-4, 2 RBI) followed with a single to center which plated Hessman.

The Mud Hens added two runs in the third and three more in the sixth to make it 9-0. The third was highlighted by Hannahan and C Dane Sardinha's (1-for-4, 1 RBI) RBI singles, while Hessman's two-run base knock keyed the sixth.

The Indians were kept off the scoreboard until the eighth when SS Brian Bixler (1-for-3, 1 R) reached on an infield single, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on 2B Luis Ordaz's (2-for-3, 1 RBI) base knock to left.

The Tribe did not see more than five batters step to the plate the entire game. Ordaz paced the offense, while Bixler, 3B Russ Johnson, LF Michael Ryan and C Humberto Cota tallied one base knock apiece.

Bazardo earned the win, improving to 6-3. Indianapolis RHP Bryan Bullington (2.1 IP, 4 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 4 BB, 1 SO) was pinned with the loss, falling to 9-4.

The Indians open a four-game series at Columbus on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. LHP Shane Youman is slated to take the hill for the Tribe, while LHP Chris Michalak is expected to get the nod for the Clippers.

The contest will be carried by ESPN-950 AM and IndyIndians.com with Howard Kellman and Scott McCauley. The pre-game show begins at 6:45 p.m.
