Charlotte Knights News Release

FORT MILL, S.C. - June 25, 2007 - Two of the Charlotte Knights biggest contributors to their 2006 championship season played like it was 2006 all over again. Pitcher Heath Phillips and first baseman Casey Rogowski led the Knights to a 6-2 win over visiting Rochester at Knights Stadium.

Phillips earned his 5th win of the season. Phillips pitched 7.1 innings allowing 2 runs off 9 hits, and had 2 strikeouts. Phillips has been a workhorse for Charlotte having pitched 15.1 innings in his last two starts.

Rogowski had perhaps his best game of the season, going 3 for 4 at the plate with a home run, 2 RBI's and a stolen base.

The Knights broke a 1-1 tie in the 6th when with runners on the corners, Red Wings starting pitcher Dave Gasner was called for a balk which allowed the go-ahead run to score.

Charlotte native and former Myers Park High School standout Jake Robbins made his debut with the Knights pitching 1.0 inning and allowing no runs off 1 hit, with 2 walks. Ehren Wassermann came in to get the final two outs to earn his 4th save of the season.

The Knights will begin an 8 game road trip on Tuesday at Syracuse. RHP Gavin Floyd (5-3, 3.22 ERA) will pitch for Charlotte, RHP Yusaku Iriki (0-0, 9.64 ERA) will start for Syracuse. The Knights next game will be on July 4th against Durham.
