Hershey Assigns Demichiel to Stingrays

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Cail MacLean announced today that goaltender Jared DeMichiel has been assigned to the team by the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

DeMichiel, 25, dressed in eight games with the Stingrays going 3-4-0 with a 2.99 goals-against average and .916 save percentage. The Avon, CT native is currently in his first professional season after playing for four years at the Rochester Institute of Technology going 41-19-2 with a 2.36 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage in 66 games. During his senior season, DeMichiel had a career-best 27-10-1 record with a 2.09 GAA and a .921 save percentage while leading the Tigers to the 2010 NCAA Frozen Four for the first time in school history. During the tournament, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound goaltender earned the NCAA East Region Most Outstanding Player award.
