After a scoreless first period, Yannick Tifu struck 16 seconds into the second period with a wrist shot from the left circle that soared over the blocker of Alaska goaltender Adam Courchaine for the 1-0 Jackals lead.

Chris Langkow redirected a Scott Howes shot at 2:07 of the second period to tie the game, 1-1.

At 16:33 of the second, Dustin Cameron was fed by A.J. Perry on the doorstep, and Cameron backhanded the puck home for his second goal of the season to reclaim the lead for Elmira, 2-1.

In the third period, the Aces stormed right back to tie the game. Wes Goldie and Brian Swanson broke into Elmira's zone on a two-on-one, with Swanson feeding Goldie for a backhand goal, making it 2-2 at 42 seconds.

Minutes later, Swanson fed Goldie in the slot, and Goldie gave Alaska the lead with 11th goal of the season at 3:27 of the third period. The tally was Goldie's 300th in the ECHL, as he became the seventh player in league history to reach that mark on the play.

Zach Harrison lifted a puck top shelf past Elmira goaltender Marco Cousineau with the Aces short handed at 10:39 of the third period to extend Alaska's lead to 4-2.

Brad Miller's backhander in the slot at 12:17 of the third brought the Jackals to within one. The goal was Miller's first of the season after being activated earlier in the day from the 21-day injured reserve.

Steve Ward fired a puck from his zone into an empty net with Elmira's extra attacker on the ice at 19:40 of the third, closing the score at 5-3.

Cousineau dropped to 6-2-4-0, stopping 27 of 31 shots, while Courchaine improved to 3-1-0-0 on the season, making 32 saves on 35 shots.

The Jackals welcome the Cincinnati Cyclones to First Arena on Saturday at 7:35 p.m.
