South Carolina Stingrays News Release

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that defenseman Brent Henley has been sent back to the team from the Lowell Lock Monsters of the AHL. Henley had 11 penalty minutes in three games with Lowell. In 23 games this season with the Rays, he had a goal and five assists and racked up 152 minutes in penalties.

Henley a 6'7"- 245lb. defenseman from Coquitlam, British Columbia, has added toughness to the Stingrays blue line this season. Last season, he racked up 188 penalty minutes in 50 games with the Colorado Gold Kings of the WCHL, while scoring three goals and three assists.

"Having Brent back on our blue line is really going to help us," said Fitzsimmons. "We have really struggled lately with a short line up. He will give us five healthy defensemen and some physical play in front of our net.

Henley recently served a ten game suspension for a stick swinging incident in Columbia. He has not played for the Rays since December 20.

The Stingrays will travel to Columbus to face the Cottonmouths on Friday night.
