
Royals Continue to Shine on Road, Home Struggles Continue

Reading Royals News Release
The Reading Royals started the week picking up their season high fourth straight win. Reading beat Wheeling for the fifth straight time 6-3 Friday night in Wheeling. The Royals returned home on Saturday and were held scoreless for the first time this season losing to Greensboro, 5-0. Finally, Sunday afternoon in the Sovereign Center saw the Roanoke Express come back in the third period to send the game to an overtime shootout in which they prevailed 6-5.
The Royals will go back on the road for just two games this week. Reading will continue their quest for the Keystone Cup in Johnstown on Friday night, while finishing the week in Richmond on Saturday.

Friday, January 24 @ Johnstown War Memorial 7:30PM
GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals and Johnstown Chiefs meet for the third time this season. The Royals have a chance to claim the Keystone Cup with a victory in this contest. Reading is 2-0-0 against Johnstown this season. This is the final meeting of the regular season series in Johnstown. The final two meetings will be in Reading on February 7 and March 8.
Saturday, January 18 @ Richmond Richmond Coliseum 7:35PM
GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals and Richmond Renegades meet for the fifth time this season. The Royals hold a 2-1-1 mark against the Renegades this season. Reading has beaten Richmond in the last two contests by a combined score of 11-2. Brian McCullough, Brad Rooney and Steve Rymsha lead all scorers in the series with three goals and nine, eight and seven points, respectively.

GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals picked up their fourth straight win tying a season high. Reading knocked off Wheeling 6-3 behind all star Brian McCullough's second hat trick this season. Remi Royer added two tallies for Reading, including the game winner. Jeff Sanger got the win, his tenth win in eleven starts. Reading and Wheeling meet one more time this season in Reading.
Saturday, January 18 vs. Greensboro Sovereign Center 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: Greensboro claimed the regular season series winning in Reading for the second time this season, 5-0. Daniel Berthiaume stopped 28 shots and Matt Turek picked up two of the Generals goals, including the game winner. Linemate, Chris Bell added a goal and three helpers. Greensboro edged the Royals in the season series 4-2.
Sunday, January 19 vs. Roanoke Sovereign Center 5:05PM
GAME NOTES: The Roanoke Express put the first blemish on the Royals perfect record when leading after two periods with a third period come-from-behind 6-5 shootout win. Roanoke overcame a 2-goal deficit going into the third period to ensure the victory. Express all star Jason Jaffray led the way with two goals and three points, including the game winner.

McCullough tallied his second hat trick this season both against the Wheeling Nailers. The Illinois native also tallied an assist that night. McCullough was held scoreless Saturday night against Greensboro, but rebounded with a two-assist performance on Sunday.

Sanger tallied his tenth win in eleven games on Friday night to improve his record to 11-7-1. His four-game win streak was snapped on Saturday with a 5-0 shutout loss to Greensboro.
