HOUSTON TX - David VanderGulik scored his second game winning goal in as many nights, this time in overtime, as the Abbotsford Heat defeated the Houston Aeros 4-3 in overtime in AHL action on Sunday night.
JD Watt paced the attack for the HEAT, notching his first multi goal game as a pro by scoring two goals as the HEAT had to erase a 2-0 first period Houston lead. Jason Jaffray scored his team leading 13th goal of the season shorthanded to open the scoring for Abbotsford in the second period.
Matt Keetley picked up his second straight wins as the HEAT finish their five game road trip with a 2-2-0-1 record. Abbotsford will now begin a season high eight game home stand, beginning on Friday night versus the West Division leaders, the Texas Stars.
