Bulldogs Sink Admirals With 6-4 Win

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Milwaukee Admirals 6-4 on Sunday afternoon in front of 2,387 fans. Ryan White posted two goals including the game-winning goal to lead the 'Dogs to victory.

Milwaukee was the first team to get on the scoreboard at 4:27 of the first period while shorthanded. Triston Grant picked off a pass intended for a 'Dogs player before sending his own pass to Ben Guite. Guite fired a shot that deflected off a Bulldogs player's stick and past Hamilton starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins.

The 'Dogs responded at 6:52 of the first frame. Alex Henry led a rush up the ice before dishing the puck to Andrew Conboy. Conboy proceeded to fire a shot that was stopped by Milwaukee starting goaltender Chet Pickard. The rebound bounced onto the stick of Greg Stewart who whacked the loose puck past Pickard and into the open side of the net.

The Admirals took a 2-1 lead at 10:19 of the second stanza. While in the Bulldogs' zone, Colin Wilson fed a pass to the point where Reid Cashman was positioned. Cashman snapped a shot that sailed through traffic and beat Desjardins over the glove.

The 'Dogs tied the game at 10:49 of the middle frame. Brock Trotter dug the puck out of a scrum in the left corner of Milwaukee's zone before Mathieu Darche scooped the puck up and sent a pass to Ben Maxwell, who was in front of the net. Maxwell tapped the puck past the right pad of Pickard and into the net.

Wilson gave Milwaukee a 3-2 lead at 12:59 of the second period. While skating in on a two-on-one, Cal O'Reilly chipped a pass to Wilson giving him a breakaway. Wilson snapped a shot over the glove of Desjardins and into the top of the net.

Stewart added his second goal of the game at 17:02 of the middle stanza. While behind the net, Ryan Russell received the puck from David Desharnais before centering a pass to Stewart. Stewart one-timed a shot that squeaked through the pads of Pickard and across the goal line.

One minute and 19 seconds following the 'Dogs goal, the Admirals regained the lead. Nolan Yonkman received the puck Wilson while stationed at the point before hammering a shot on net. The puck travelled through traffic and past Desjardins to give the Admirals a 4-3 lead.

White tied the game 4-4 at 2:21 of the final stanza. Darche sent a pass to Andre Benoit, who was at the point. Benoit faked a shot before sending the puck to White, who was at the left circle dot. White fired a shot that bounced off the skate of a Milwaukee defender and into the top corner of the net. White recorded his second goal at 11:03 of the final frame. Yannick Weber carried the puck into the Admiral's zone before sending the puck to Ryan White. White raced down the left side boards before taking a shot that deflected off a Milwaukee player and into the back of the net. Maxwell sealed the victory at 15:38. Taking a saucer pass up the middle from Brock Trotter, Maxwell split the defence and then beat Pickard with a deke to send the Admirals to their third straight loss.
