Abbotsford Heat News Release

ROCHESTER NY - The Abbotsford Heat rode the hot goaltending of Matt Keetley and edged the Division leading Rochester Americans 2-1 in AHL action on Friday night in upstate New York.

Keetley was superb, stopping 37 of 38 Rochester shots for the win, his second over Rochester in seven days.

"I just tried to keep things simple in front of me," said Keetley. "My team kept the front of my net clear and I was able to see a lot of shots tonight. I need to give a huge assist to our defence tonight."

The Heat picked up goals from Brett Sutter and Cam Cunning in the victory, while Graham Mink scored the only goal of the game for the Amerks, a lucky break for the Rochester forward as Keetley banked a clearing attempt off the forward and into a wide open goal mid way thru the second period.

With the win, the HEAT do a few things that no other team has accomplished this season: they hand the Amerks their first loss at home in regulation this season, and they are the first team to beat Rochester twice this year.

Abbotsford moves to 15-12-2-2, while the Americans fall to 19-6-1 on the season. Abbotsford wraps up their three game road trip on Sunday afternoon versus the Hamilton Bulldogs.
