Syracuse, NY (December 11, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have claimed center Mike Radja off American Hockey League waivers.

Radja, 24, had been playing for TPS Turku of the Finnish Elite League this season, where he appeared in 25 games, notching six goals, three assists and 20 penalty minutes. Last season, he appeared in 57 games with Rockford, notching 11 goals, 12 assists and 20 penalty minutes.

Radja was signed by the Crunch to an amateur tryout agreement on April 4, 2008 after completing a four-year career at the University of New Hampshire where he appeared in 149 games and tallied 54 goals, 63 assists and 98 penalty minutes.

A native of Yorkville, Illinois, Radja appeared in two games with the Crunch at the end of the 2007-08 season, recording three assists. He made his professional debut with Syracuse on April 4, 2008 vs. Rochester.

The Crunch's next game is Friday, December 11 as they take on Adirondack at 7:30 p.m. at the War Memorial at Oncenter.
