Heat Comeback Thrills the Crowd & Downs the Gulls
March 4, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Stockton Heat News Release
Stockton, Calif. - Brett Pollock's third period, breakaway goal sent the crowd into a frenzy and the game to extra time, where Hunter Shinkaruk would complete the comeback win in the sixth round of the shootout, giving the Heat the 5-4 win over San Diego on Sunday night. The Gulls jumped on the Heat early, beating goalie Tyler Parsons three times in the first 11-minutes of the game before former Gull, Ryan Faragher, came on to spell the Heat starter in net. Quickly the tide turned for the Heat who clawed back into the game to within a goal to end both the first and second periods. Pollock's goal after his own penalty expired sent the game to overtime where the Heat would score twice to put the pressure on the Gulls. Faragher forced a miss on the final Gull shot which helped the Heat capture their third come-from-behind win in their last nine games, and the season series with the Gulls. The Heat return to action this Wednesday, hosting the Ontario Reign for Wing it Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Stockton Arena. Fans can enjoy tickets starting at just $5 through our Wing It Wednesday pack, and can enjoy $.50 wings and $4 bottomless popcorn. Then it's down to Rabobank Arena to take on the Bakersfield Condors on the road this Friday at 7:00 p.m. before returning for Pucks & Paws on Sunday, March 11, hosting the Cleveland Monsters for the first time at Stockton Arena.
